Sonny has a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology emphasis in Cell and Development Biology with a minor in Theater and Performance Studies  at University of California, Berkeley. He has completed his Master of Public Health emphasis in Global Health Leadership at the USC Keck School of Medicine.  He is the Chief Editor for Talkingaboutmenshealth.com (TAMH Blog) and one of the State Coordinators for the Men’s Health Network (MHN).

Jennifer JacksonJennifer Jackson, MPH
Nutrition Nerd

Jenn, aka the Nutrition Nerd, graduated with her Master of Public Health degree in Preventive Nutrition from USC in 2008 and will be a Registered Dietitian candidate in 2012.  She currently works full-time in increasing access to health care and preventive services for children with special health care needs.  Jenn’s true passion lies in spreading nutrition knowledge while learning on a personal level through self-improvement and learning directly from her Nutrition Nerds!  Her goals include working hand-in-hand with individuals to increase their quality of life through a unique combination of outdoor recreation and nutrition lessons as a “Certified Personal Dietician.”

Adam DoughertyAdam Dougherty, MPH

My name is Adam Dougherty and I graduated from USC with a masters degree in public health. I’m currently living and working in Washington, DC and I’m particularly interested in health policy, prevention, and wellness so feel free to contact me on any of these issues as I am always looking for stimulating discussion! I’m an avid guitar player, enjoy going on runs, playing pick-up bball, and love watching Giants baseball. I’m a big health advocate, particularly men’s health, so keep checking the blogs for my insight on issues important to all the men in your life!


Ramon LlamasRamon Paolo Llamas, MPH

Ramon Paolo Llamas received a B.S. in Biological Sciences with a minor in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine and an MPH with an emphasis in Health Education and Promotion from the University of Southern California.  His interests include a reduction in health disparities across all races as well as a reduction in health disparities between genders.  In addition, Ramon strongly believes in empowering individuals to be proactive participants in their own health and well-being.  He currently holds the position, Director, Health Education and Promotion, Program Development for the Men’s Health Network based out of Washington, D.C.


Luke ManleyLuke Manley

Luke grew up in and around Boston, Massachusetts before moving north to attend the University of Maine at Orono for his undergraduate degree.  After living briefly in Portland, Oregon he is now working as a Research Phlebotomist and Grants Manager for the Psychiatry Department at the University of Southern California while he completes his Masters in Public Health.  His passion lies in travel and working internationally, especially in the Middle-East, having already spent time in Istanbul, Turkey researching the Turkish Healthcare system.  He soon travels to Syria, Turkey, Tunisia, and Palestine to assist with the MedCHAMPS project studying cardiovascular morbidity and mortality and will pursue a PhD in International Relations in the U.S. or abroad.


Brandon LeonardBrandon Leonard, MA

Brandon Leonard is a State Coordinator for MHN in California. Born and raised in Southwest Virginia, he graduated from the University of Virginia in 2004 with a degree in Foreign Affairs and Spanish. After receiving a Governor’s Fellowship with the office of Mark Warner, Brandon continued working with the state government for two years as a Policy and Planning Specialist on an initiative promoting community integration for people with disabilities. In this role he worked closely with advocates and government officials, particularly in public health, toward policies that favored independence and community-based care options. Brandon continued his studies at the George Washington University, earning an M.A. in International Development Studies in 2008. That year, he worked with MHN in Washington, D.C. as a researcher on state and local health initiatives for men. He has since moved to the San Francisco area, where he is an International Programs Officer for the Foundation for Sustainable Development. Brandon is excited about promoting men’s health in his new home state and nation-wide.
