T-Talk Tune-Up Men’s Health Event

Did you know that almost 70 percent of men find it easier to care for their cars than for their personal health? Since June is Men’s Health Awareness Month, Men’s Health Network commissioned a survey with Abbott Laboratories in order to assess men’s and women’s knowledge of common men’s health issues and to gain insight into men’s understanding of their health as it relates to car care. The survey is part of the T-Talk Tune-Up national campaign.

We celebrated the kick off of Men’s Health Month by hosting T-Talk Tune-Up Men’s Health Event with Abbott in Times Square on June 13th. We teamed up with championship racecar driver Terry Labonte and men’s health expert Dr. Harry Fisch to encourage men to take care of their bodies the same way they take care of their cars. Dr. Fisch offered health tips for men, such as five of the most important health tests every man should know about, including one for low testosterone, and Terry Labonte discussed why he is encouraging men to take charge of their health and his tips for car care. We had some really great health tests at our booth, including a grip strength test and a body fat test. These tests were provided as a fun way to encourage both men and women to begin a knowledgeable dialogue with their physicians. We also gave out materials such as maintenance guides, which can be downloaded at www.ttalktuneup.com. We were glad to see so many people got involved!

Overall, the event was a success! We are so thankful to everyone who came out and supported Men’s Health Awareness Month. This month, make sure to get in the driver’s seat and take control of your health!

Bringing awareness to men’s health is a great cause! I’m taking actions this month to promote prostate cancer awareness. Thanks for the share!
